Function and Purpose

The Suquamish Citizen Advisory Committee has been formed to provide a forum for community discussion on the many issues and interests found in the rural Suquamish community.
It is expected that the formation of this Committee will foster enhanced communication between the residents of the Suquamish area, Suquamish Tribal Government and Kitsap County government, as well as help to coordinate efforts of the community  residents currently at work on improving the Suquamish community.
It is intended that the Committee will work together in a proactive approach toward addressing the interests and concerns of the community.


Membership and Terms


Established

Kitsap County Board of Commissioners
Resolution 107-2006 established the
 Suquamish Citizen Advisory Committee on June 13th, 2006.


Mission Statement

The mission of the Suquamish Citizen Advisory Committee (SCAC) is to:

  • Actively facilitate communication among the Suquamish Community.
     
  • Mutually develop and promote a sense of community vision and pride.
     
  • Communicate to the County, Suquamish Tribe, and other government entities the desires and concerns of the Suquamish community.
     
  • Bring to the Suquamish community issues and projects of the County and Suquamish Tribe, and provide a means for receiving and conveying to the County and Suquamish Tribe the community's response.
