DRAFT Kingston Sub-Area Plan Update Staff Report  Appendix G: Work Program

General Information

The Kitsap County Department of Community Development, in cooperation with the Kingston Citizen’s Advisory Council (KCAC), is preparing to amend the Kitsap County Comprehensive Plan by adding an appendix to the Kingston Sub-Area Plan. The appendix contains a work program that identifies and prioritizes projects and other implementing actions in support of the Plan’s goals and policies. 

In early 2008, the KCAC initiated a public process consisting of 4 workshops to review existing goals and policies from the Kingston Sub-Area Plan and identify supporting projects and actions (i.e. regulatory changes, programs, capital improvements). At the final workshop, KCAC presented the results and asked participants to prioritize the items.

Next Steps

The KCAC forwarded final results of the 2008 Sub-Area plan prioritization work shops to the Department of Community Development in August 2008. Based on this information and any comments received, staff will prepare a draft document tentatively titled, Kingston Sub-Area Plan Implementation and Community Priorities. If adopted, this document will be inserted into the existing Kingston Sub-Area Plan (Updated 2005 version) as an appendix.
 

 In addition, a staff report will be available for the Planning Commission and Board of County Commissioners as well as the general public. The staff report describes the public process, and provides findings and conclusions which consider decision criteria for proposed Comprehensive Plan amendments as required by Kitsap County Code 21.08.160 and 21.08.170.
