Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Plan |
Over the past two years, the Kitsap
County Parks and Recreation Department has worked with local
stewardship and community groups as well as other
stakeholders furthering the goals and policies of the Kitsap
County’s Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Plan. These
discussions have yielded great progress and proposed
amendments to include in the 2012 Plan update.
The Kitsap County Parks, Recreation and Open Space Plan was adopted by
the Board of County Commissioners, Wednesday, March 28, 2012.

Horseshoe Lake County Park |
|
Kitsap County Parks & Recreation Department and Key Peninsula
Metropolitan Park District jointly announced the creation of a partnership
which will provide public access to Horseshoe Lake Park, on a daily basis
for the 2012 season. The popular park off Sidney Road, Port Orchard,
will be open daylight hours. The park offers access to the lake,
swimming area, walking trails, picnic areas, playground, open playfield, and
restrooms. The park season will conclude September 4.
