(Port Orchard) – This week’s weather
caused delays for many schools, businesses, military bases and government
offices. Add the opening of Tracyton Boulevard to the list of things
impacted by snow and ice. The winter blast prevented the contractor from
finishing the work needed to open the road. The work includes bringing the
road surface up to grade, and adjusting guardrails, before it can be
opened to traffic. When the road opens it will have a gravel surface
through the project site until the spring, when weather permits paving.
With more winter weather on the way the contractor, McDonald &
Company, Inc. of Enumclaw is making no guarantee as to when the road will
open. It may remain closed all of next week. The work is a privately
funded project coordinated by Mid Puget Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group.
