This Road Report information is provided as a public service and includes major construction and maintenance activities that delay or detour traffic on County-maintained roads. Listings may change without notice due to weather delays, equipment problems, and unforeseen circumstance. Check this page often for the latest information. South Kitsap Area

ews are completing installation of stormwater along Converse Road. Traffic impacts are minimal with the Contractor keeping two lanes of traffic open at all times. Flaggers assist motorists when necessary, and delays are minimal if any. This projects continues through next week.

(from Harper Dock to SE Olympiad Dr.)
Traffic impacts on the project are minimal next week, with grinding of the asphalt in preparation of paving beginning September 7.At that time, major road work begins, and motorists may see longer delays.
Traffic control is in place, and flaggers assist motorists through the work area when necessary. Tentative paving date is September 13. Anticipated completion date is October 6, 2010.

County crews are paving the road Tuesday and doing approach work Wednesday through Friday. Delays during paving may last up to 10 minutes, but there are only minimal delays the rest of the week. Work is weather dependent and flaggers assist motorists through the work area as needed.

Traffic impacts this week are:

  • Only minimal traffic delays this week. The paving contractor anticipates they will finish the last bit of paving on Old Belfair Valley Road on Sept 8th and 9th, weather permitting.

County crews are full depth patching the road Monday and Tuesday. Work is weather dependent and flaggers assist motorists through the work area as needed.

County crews are paving the road Wednesday and Thursday. Work is weather dependent and flaggers assist motorists through the work area as needed.

(from just south of Little Beef Bridge to Pioneer Rd.)
County crews are potholing for utility locations and installing drainage Monday through Friday. Work is weather dependent and flaggers assist motorists through the work area as needed.

minimal delays up to 5 minutes Silverdale Way
(from Anderson Hill Rd. to Lowell St.)
Linden Land Development and Excavation, Inc., is potholing and saw-cutting the road for a new water main installation beginning Thursday. The main work for pavement removal and water main installation is at night between the hours of 7:00pm and 5:00am. Minimal delays are anticipated. Flaggers assist motorists through the work area as needed. Project will last through September.

(East of Frontier Place NW to Old Frontier Road NW)
Potelco, a contractor for Puget Sound Energy, is upgrading power along NW Anderson Hill, and work is nearing completion. This project is scheduled to be complete by mid-September.

North Kitsap Area

long delays anticipatedCliffside Road - Road Improvement Project
(from Hood Canal Dr. to NE Little Boston Rd.)
Due to weather, paving continues Saturday, then Monday and Tuesday of next week. Traffic delays during paving are anticipated to be more than 20 minutes, and motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes. Cliffside Road and Hood Canal Drive, between Bridgeview Drive and Bridgeview Place, is closed  during paving. Flaggers assist motorists through the work area when necessary. Anticipated completion date is November 3, 2010.

County crews are working on side approaches for these roads:

  • Augusta Avenue

  • Beham Street

  • Lofall Court

Work is Monday through Friday, is weather dependent, and flaggers assist motorists through the area as needed.

(from Waaga to Paulson then down Paulson 1500 feet)
RJC Construction is installing a water system for Silverdale Water Monday through Friday Minimal delays are anticipated. Flaggers assist motorists through the work area as needed. The project lasts through September.

delays up to 10 minutesS.R. 305 - Unnamed Tributary to Liberty Bay - Culvert Replacement (click here for location map.)
Washington State Department of Transportation with Frank Coluccio Construction is replacing a culvert allowing fish passage to Liberty Bay. The work is scheduled to last through October. Click here to visit their website for more information.

Upcoming Construction Projects and Road Closure
(information is updated near project start date)

minimal delays up to 5 minutes Twin Spits Road
(in front of the Hansville General Store)
The Department of Ecology (and their Contractor) are starting a clean up project September 13. Work hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Minimal delays are anticipated, and flaggers assist motorists through the work area as needed. The project length is approximately one month.

 General Maintenance

General Maintenance indicates crews are working in areas adjacent to and outside of the driving lanes. This work includes any of the following: 

  • snow and ice control

  • road approach work

  • storm system and ditch restoration

  • , shoulder maintenance

  • sweeping

  • overhead brushing

  • road crack seal application

  • vegetation management

  • storm clean-up

  • maintaining and lifting manholes

  • general system maintenance

  • other maintenance activities as required

Use caution when passing roadside workers. Flaggers will assist motorists when necessary.
