Right of Way Permits
Any construction activity within County right-of-way requires a valid
“Permit to Perform Work in County Right of Way”. To obtain a permit,
submit an application and five copies of the construction plans to Public
Works for review and processing. Once the permit has been issued, a copy must
be available for inspection at the construction site for the term of the
permit (or permit period).

Current processing time is 7-10 business days.
If the status is APPROVED, you will be notified to pick up the permit and pay the amount
due between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday.
The Public Works department is now located at 507 Austin Street, across
from the courthouse, on the third floor.
"Right of Way" is defined as all property in which the County has any form
of ownership, interest or title, and which is held for the purpose of
public roads and associated features such as, median, sidewalks, bicycle
facilities, and public utilities. This definition applies regardless of
whether or not any road exists thereon or whether or not it is used,
improved, or maintained for public travel.
