Earth Day Award Nominations

Kitsap County Solid Waste Division is sponsoring the 19th annual Earth Day Awards, presented to individual citizens, organizations, schools, clubs and businesses for their innovative environmental programs or projects. Outstanding achievers make a difference in their choices and lead the way as they make others aware of environmental issues.

Winners will be announced soon.

The following Earth Day Awards recognizes individuals, schools, clubs, organizations or businesses:

Partners in Environmental Education
Recipient integrates the concepts of waste reduction, recycling, and/or sustainability into basic curriculum or specialized program.

Best Hazardous Waste Program
Recipient creates a safer environment by using alternatives to hazardous products by changing practices or processes.

Excellence in Recycling
Recipient acts to further recycling, uses innovative programs, ideas and efforts, or whose influence has increased recycling in their community.

Excellence in Environmental Leadership
Recipient demonstrates a leadership role in sustainability, waste reduction, recycling, hazardous waste management or green building.
