All types of batteries (including all sizes A-D, 6 volt, 9 volt, and batteries listed below) are collected at garbage and recycling facilities and the HHW Collection Facility for no charge.

The Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corp. (RBRC) has battery collection sites at some retailers in the county to collect nickel cadmium (Ni-Cad), nickel metal hydride, lithium-ion, and small sealed lead batteries (less than 2 pounds). These types of batteries are found in cordless power tools, cellular and cordless phones, laptop computers, and camcorders. Those collection sites are in green. Note: Home Depot only accepts power tool batteries.

AUTOMOTIVE: When you buy a new battery, at the same time return your old battery for a refund of the disposal fee. Car batteries (non-commercial) can also be recycled at any of the sites listed in blue for no charge. Note: Home Depot does not take car batteries.

BUSINESSES: Contact the HHW Collection Facility to schedule an appointment for the SQG Collection Day. A disposal fee will be charged.
