Seeking Human Rights Council Applicants

PORT ORCHARD, WA
If you are interested in serving your community as a member of the Council for Human Rights, you are encouraged to apply for the current openings in Commissioner Districts 1 and 2. The Council's twelve members advise the County Commissioners on issues related to prejudice, discrimination, racially motivated violence and malicious harassment. The council promotes equitable treatment of all citizens and works to reduce prejudice and its effects through prevention policies, education, resource referrals, and advocacy. Together with the Board of County Commissioners, they sponsor the Annual Human Rights Conference.

Except in December, the Council meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. Their meetings, which are open to the public, are usually held in the Training Room at the Fairgrounds Complex.
